Remote Access

Remote Access lets you connect to your computer from a remote computer using a web browser and internet connection. It allows you to see live and stored video. For example, if you are out of town you can connect to your computer to see live or historical video of your home or office.
Remote Access is best used when used with dedicated Broadband Access such as DSL, CABLE MODEM, T1, T3 or LAN access. You can also use Remote Access with a dial up connection, but you will need to keep your computer constantly connected to the Internet. (You can also configure Visec to dial a connection when it detects motion so that you do not need to leave your computer always connected).
To Enable Remote Access
Choose Camera , then Options . Then select Remote Access
Step 1: Check Enable Remote Access
Remote Access Password: This is the password to login into your computer.
Before you can view any live or historical video, you will need to use this password.
This Computers IP Address: An IP address is the location of your computer on the Internet. For example if you phone number were 212-555-1212, this is what you would be know worldwide. An Ip address is the same. Its a numerical address to your computer on the Internet.
To connect to your computer VISEC needs to know your IP address.
If you have a fixed IP address, you can type it in this box.
Or if you do not know your IP address you can press determine IP Address to determine your IP address. Visec will connect to the Internet to check your IP address.
If you are using a router or firewall, you may need to manually configure the router and firewall to allow access. (This may require someone with some advanced skills in this area).
Port: Most users will select port 80. If you are using a router of firewall you can configure TRIGGER PORTS to allow access. (A routers of firewall may require you to point a specific port to a specific IP address)
Sample Url: This is the location of your computer. You can test this by copying this into your web browser. You should see a login screen to access your computer.
Check the box to the side to send visec.net your IP Address.
Some users will not have a dedicated IP address. By using this feature every time you log onto the Internet your IP address will change. This is true for many dial up customers, and DSL customers. Since you need your IP address to connect to your computer, we have a feature to enable you to find your IP address.
You can login at www.visec.net and we will assist you in connecting to your computer.
Before you can use this feature, you will need to create a username and password at www.visec.net (choose login, and the system will prompt you to create a new account).
Enter this username and password here
(if you have a static IP address, which is an IP address that does not change, you will not need to use this feature)
