"Video Surveillance System" As Seen On ABC7 TV (Here is a
sumary of the broadcast transcript)
Video Surveillance doesn't come cheap, with systems costing more
than a thousand dollars. Now there is new technology that could
make it affordable to just about everyone. When Alex's cell phone
goes off, he knows an intruder has entered his home. Philex Enterprises,
Inc. Recently developed computer software that provides the verification
the LAPD is looking for. VISEC uses special motion sensor technology.
Connected to any Internet service - the small camera starts recording
an intruder as soon as he comes into view. The unwanted guest can
be monitored online by the homeowner after being alerted by e-mail,
pager or cell phone of a home break-in.

Visec
was featured on the CBS Affiliate NewsRadio KNX1070, Anchored by Bob McCormick.
The show deals with exclusive reports and features from experts, company
CEOs, and reporters in the high tech area of business.

"Surveillance can pay" By Brent Hopkins Staff Writer
"Visec software uses readily available technology, converting
Web cams into security cameras to record the activities of unsuspecting
bandits, sticky-fingered employees and ill-intentioned nannies.
Once plugged in, the camera feeds to Visec's motion-capture program.
Powered by an algorithm that took Philex's staff of eight more than
a year to develop, the software constantly compares images, detecting
subtle differences. If the pictures don't match up, this triggers
the program to begin recording and uploading the images to a Web
server. It then transmits alerts, delivered directly to the user's
e-mail, personal digital assistant or cell phone, flashing images
of the action.

Visec lets users
monitor their home or office remotely. It uses motion detection software and a
PC Webcam to provide the live video feed via the Internet in real-time.

home while away
Tech Talk Once it's installed on a personal
computer with a Universal Serial Bus port, you can monitor a live video feed of
what's happening at home via the Internet while you're at work or on vacation.
When
the camera and software detect motion, the program can alert you via e-mail, cell
phone, pager or a personal digital assistant. It also can be set to record what
the camera sees when movement is detected or record at preset times.

surveillance is in. While
the government watches airports, harbors, and other sensitive installations subject
to terrorist attacks, big businesses watch their employees, warehouses and offices. But
the folks who sell surveillance products that combine video cameras with simple
software that enables remote monitoring via the Internet are thinking even bigger.
